More than just a shopping destination
Our History
The site has a fascinating past. Once home to a large hotel and a block of flats, the area was completely reimagined as part of a major regeneration project aimed at revitalising Dover's town centre. During construction, a significant number of archaeological discoveries were made by the Canterbury Archaeological Trust, uncovering artefacts that offered fresh insights into Dover's rich history – a reminder of the town's deep roots and enduring importance as a coastal gateway.

St James Kicks Off Dover Regeneration
St James is an 8 acre site that has transformed the retail and leisure offer in the heart of Dover town centre. The development sits alongside the A20, the main road leading to the Port of Dover attracting significant footfall.
The development features a 16,000 sq. ft. M&S store, a six screen multiplex Cineworld cinema, a 108 bed Travelodge hotel, national chain restaurants, and a further 12 retail units ranging in size from 2,730 sq. ft. to 16,000 sq. ft., all supported by parking for 450 cars.

Modern Development
